Code Blue Salem County

When You Need To Stay Warm

Code Blue  in Salem County is a non-profit 501(C)3 organization in partnership with the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) involving volunteers, and several area churches. The purpose is to provide temporary designated “Warming Centers” for homeless individuals when temperatures drop dangerously low or frozen precipitation is expected during the overnight hours. Salem County’s Code Blue Coalition is NOT government funded or operated.

The homelessness crisis in the United States has reached an undeniable inflection point, with very few indications of abeyance on the horizon. After several decades of disjointed efforts to address the situation , homelessness remains a significant problem here in Salem County. 

We provide temporary shelter in designated “Warming Centers” for unhoused individuals when temperatures drop dangerously low or frozen precipitation is expected during the overnight hours.

Due to the impending storm, THE WARMING CENTER IS CLOSED. Clients are being placed in motels until after the storm. If you encounter any homeless, please urge them to call NJ211 for motel placements
